Ruijie grew up in the city of Fuzhou, Fujian, China and immigrated to Boston with her family when she was fourteen.  She learned English as a second language through high school while maintaining her Mandarin through interactions with families and friends. 

卓睿婕在中国福建福州市长大, 十四岁时随家人移时民波士顿.  她在学校学习英语为第二语言，同时透过与家人和朋友的互动保持普通话的發展.

Ruijie obtained a Bachelors degree in Marketing from Bentley University, and Masters of Business Administration from Boston University. While she's not a formally trained teacher, she's always been passionate about keeping the language and culture alive. 

Ruijie 在本特利大学获得市场营销学士学位, 并在波士顿大学以工商管理硕士毕业. 虽然她没有受过正式的教师培训, 但她一直热衷于保育语言和中华文化.

As the Operations Director & Mandarin Program Director for the school, Ruijie is responsible for the day-to-day operations, enrollment, and general maintenance of the school, as well as providing support and training Mandarin teachers.

作为学校的运营总监和普通话主任, Ruijie 负责学校的日常运营、招生和其他事务, 同时为普通话教师提供支援和培训.

When she's not working at SSCS, Ruijie is a Program Manager at a technology company.  Outside of work, she enjoys travel, playing tennis, and spending quality time with her husband and two children. 

除了为中文学校工作, Ruijie 受雇于科技公司当项目经理. 在工余时间, 她喜欢旅行、打网球、及与丈夫和两个孩子享受家庭乐.

Francisca was born and raised in Hong Kong. As an early teen, she immigrated to the US with her family, living in Queens, NY. Upon graduating college with a business degree, she went back to Hong Kong to live and work as a young adult.  After a few years, she returned to the States. This time, she landed in Boston, MA, and pursued a Master's Degree in Elementary and Special Education.  It has been nearly two decades since she became a public school teacher!

譚胡慧君在香港出生和長大. 十幾歲時隨家人移民到美國, 住在紐約皇后區. 在大學拿到商科學士學位後, 她回到香港居住和工作. 幾年後, 她再次返美, 落腳於麻省波士頓, 並攻讀小學和特殊教育的碩士學位.  轉眼間, 她已當了公立學校教師快二十年!

While Cantonese is Francisca's mother tongue, she had learned English and Mandarin in school.  However, her proficiency level in these new languages remained minimal, until real-life language immersion gave her opportunities to practice, by attending schools in the U.S. and working part-time in a Taiwanese-owned supermarket.  With these personal experiences  as well as knowledge as an ESL teacher, she firmly believes that language cannot be meaningfully gained and retained without consistent exposure and practical uses.

廣東話是 Francisca 的母語, 但在學校她也學習英語和普通話.  然而, 她在這兩種新語言的熟練程度一直很低, 直至在美國上學和到台資超市做兼職, 透過現實生活中的語言沉浸才得到磨練.  憑藉這些個人經驗和當 ESL 老師的知識, 她堅信語言需要有持續接觸和實際使用才能有意義地學懂和保存.

Francisca has taught at SSCS for 4 years, and has participated in school affairs such as Lunar New Year celebrations and curriculum development.  Outside of classrooms, she enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling.  In recent years, promoting and preserving Cantonese has become her new passion.

Francisca 在南岸中文學校當了四年教師, 也有參與主持農曆新年慶典和協助創建課程等事務.  在課室以外, 她喜歡閱讀、烹飪和去旅行.  近年, 她更熱衷於推廣和保育廣東話.
